Q. Are MINIMOUNT Cases available for full size notebook computers?
A. Notebook products may be introduced at some point in the future. For now we have chosen to focus on Netbooks due to their compact size and versatility.

Q. Do MINIMOUNT Cases require a Quick Plate accessory to be used with a mounting arm?
A. No, the MINIMOUNT can be directly attached to any photographic tripod or mount product designed for cameras up to five pounds in weight. The Quick Plate accessory mount does however offer additional strength, ease of use, and is designed to compliment the mounting kits offered by Aileron Designs.

Q. Do MINIMOUNT Hardshell Cases protect my computer in the event of a drop or fall?
A. MINIMOUNT cases have not been drop tested with computers intact. Testing of this nature is not feasible due to the large number of computer models supported. It is our belief that protection is entirely dependent on the force of the impact, relative to the internal strength of the computer itself. The case will certainly buffer such an impact to some extent and may prevent failure or damage to the computer. Aileron Designs, LLC makes no representations or claims with respect to impact protection and is in no way responsible should such damage occur.

A. Many Netbooks are offered with an SSD, or solid state hard drive. SSD's have no moving parts and a re far more resistant to shock than conventional hard drives, Aside from the hard drive, most Netbooks contain very few moving parts and should withstand vibrations and normal shock when enclosed in a foam insulated MINIMOUNT case. Due to the many variables beyond our control, we make no specific representations in this regard.

A. We offer a wide variety of kits for many typical situations. We do not offer any mounting accessories other than those included with the kits we sell. However, since our mounting kits are built on RAM Mount and Manfrotto components, many additional parts and pieces are available either directly or through the dealer network. The product offerings of both suppliers are extensive and may work very well along with the kits we sell.
