Flight is a universal symbol of travel, freedom and the quest for innovation. Inspired by the wing of an airplane, Aileron Designs was founded to design, build and market innovative products. Our focus on mechanical forms and simple use of basic materials starts with advanced industrial design methods. Using 3-d modeling techiniques we are able to translate very pure product concepts into a multitude of unique applications, each with their own peculiar set of technical constraints.

I have a rich design background in architecture, residential home construction and mechanical arts. Aileron has become a refuge from the building world designed by committees and determined by politicians. This is all about getting back to basics. I love to travel, seeking adventure on the wings of a motorcycle and exploring remote corners near and far. Take only what you need; keep it simple; don't break it. Many gadgets and gizmos have passed through my hands over the years. The ones that last are basic, compact, sturdy, and have been made more useful through adaptation. The Netbook computer is one of those that becomes better over time. Even in the high mountains of Peru, I am astounded to find very ordinary hotels offering free internet service. A Netbook is the perfect companion. It is the universality of these experiences that leads me to think about other possibilities. The MINIMOUNT is simply an option.
